Summary:

• The U.S. Mission in Cairo/Egypt is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Deputy Maintenance Supervisor in the Facilities Office.

- The work schedule for this position is: Full Time - 40 hours per week.

.• Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

Basic Function of the Position –

He/She under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor oversees the daily operation of the electrical / mechanical / HVAC building systems, manages the preventive maintenance program,  performs trouble shooting, administers repair and renovation work for over 50 apartments, and supervises approximately 37 employees of various trades and contractors.  Performs other duties as assigned .  In addition, Incumbent serves as the deputy Maintenance Supervisor in his/her absence.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: 

Three years of progressively responsible experience in operations and maintenance of large commercial buildings and the use of international building codes is required. Must have experience in maintenance of split A/C, water heaters, pumps, residential and electrical systems. One year of this experience as a team leader is required. 

JOB KNOWLEDGE: 

 Must have good technical understanding of electrical systems, refrigeration and air conditioning systems and general knowledge of plumbing and related systems.  Knowledge of multi-trade activity including electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance is required. 

Education Requirements:

Two years full time university studies in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering is required. 

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:  

Level III (Good working Knowledge) in English (Will be Tested)

Level IV (Fluent) in Arabic are required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES : 

Must have the ability to plan maintenance and preventive maintenance activities for assigned workers as well as coordinating the maintenance staffs' daily, weekly and monthly schedules. Ability to use a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools of the electrical and mechanical trades is required. Must have a current and valid driving license to self-drive US Government Vehicles.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Cairo/Egypt may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
